Ms. Sarah Cook is a research scientist at CNA’s Institute for Public Research who has more than 18 years of experience working with government and public sector clients to identify their needs and collect data on pressing issues. She currently serves on the Eradicate Hate Common Metrics Working Group, which develops metrics for measuring targeted violence prevention efforts for international use. She has been a frequent speaker at the National Homeland Security Conference and the Eradicate Hate Global Summit. For three years, Ms. Cook served as the principal investigator for the Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention Grantee Evaluation Project for the Department of Homeland Security. In that role, she was responsible for overseeing dozens of violence prevention program evaluations. In addition, she has two decades of experience as a survey methodologist and has extensive experience working with criminal justice agencies in both research roles and training and technical assistance capacities. Ms. Cook holds a master’s degree in sociology from Washington State University and a bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston.
