The Domestic Violent Extremism Research and Translation Center (DVERT)—a national center of excellence embedded within CNA— is dedicated to building knowledge that has practical utility for practitioners working to prevent targeted violence and violent extremism.
Our mission is to deliver timely research, evidence-based insights, and actionable recommendations to allied professionals.
We execute this mission through our four core functions:
Assess
We collaborate with practitioners to learn what information and resources are needed to prevent targeted violence and violent extremism.
Research
We conduct rigorous research on topics with immediate implications to the field and provide evidence-based, actionable insights to those working to combat targeted violence.
Translate
We translate research findings into accessible, actionable formats for practitioners and community members, including infographics, podcasts, and presentations.
Train
We develop and deliver evidence-based in-person and virtual trainings for practitioners working in targeted violence and violent extremism prevention.
