Identify high-risk-for-lethality domestic violence victims |

Tailor our interventions to the needs of each family we serve |

Ensure accountability in case management |

Increase communication among DVERT team members |
|

Point of entry for DVERT cases are case referrals from the network of DVERT partner agencies |
|
|
Referrals are "screened" three times weekly |
|
|
Cases accepted or denied based on priority, resource availability and safety. |
|
|
Assigned to a DVERT team comprised of: One Detective, One Caseworker, One Community Advocate and One CASA Advocate |

3 Law Enforcement Detectives (2 CSPD & 1 EPSO) |

3 Community Advocates (TESSA) |
|
|
2 Child Protective Services Caseworkers (DHS) |

|
1 CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) 1/2 Time |
Team Responsibilities
|
|
Team will attempt to contact victim and children after case assigned within 72hrs |
|
|
Provide victim and/or children with community resources, domestic violence education and safety planning |
|
|
Team contact with offender |
|
|
Complete criminal case investigation to include investigation of previously unreported cases back 18 months |
|
|
Provide team court support for victim and for offender accountability |
|
|
Addresses hazarded with law enforcement dispatch/24-hour on-call response |
|
|
Re-location of victim if necessary |
|
|
Address child protection concerns |
|
|
Assess for additional DVERT follow-up |
|
|
Assess lethality and provide recommendations/ assignments for possible DVERT follow-up |
|
|
Engage outside resources as needed, such as Humane Society, Mental Health, Housing, etc. |
